Surprise!

What a surprise....we are pregnant! It still seems so surreal.

We found out that we were pregnant the night of Rachael's bachelorette party at 3 am. Jon wasn't too thrilled at first when I woke him up, but after seeing the test read "Pregnant" he jumped right out of bed.

We decided to wait until Christmas to tell each of our families our exciting secret, and boy are we glad we did. The looks on our parents' faces were priceless! Jon's parents didn't quite get it at first, because their other son and his wife, Josh and Martha, are also expecting. But after Jon clued them in, they were super excited. Courtney's parents were equally thrilled, but it only took a second for them to realize what was going on when we handed them the baby frame and grandparents t-shirt.

Up until about a week ago, Courtney was feeling like a million bucks. But the nausea has now set in and sleepless nights have begun. This week we also had our first ultrasound! It made this whole experience become a reality when we saw the heartbeat and the baby. The baby is only about 9 mm and the heartbeat was around 124 beats/min. Here is a picture:

Jon thinks the baby is a boy and I, of course, believe it's a girl! It will be fun to see who is right!
